OUR MISSION

At KRIEGH ARCHITECTURE STUDIOS | Design + Research (KAS) our purpose and passion is to innovate, design for the future and create structures that are elegant, efficient, environmentally responsive and equitable for all.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

The KAS team believes that the design of the physical environment and people’s relationship with that environment are crucial factors in energy conservation and climate challenge solutions. We understand that designing for the mutual benefit of people and planet is key. We believe in reciprocity.

WHAT WE DO

KAS actively looks to engage in projects with an emphasis on decarbonizing the built environment. As Passive House certified architects, we provide full architectural design services, engage in research initiatives, and consult on high-performance materials and construction strategies. Our projects include single family residences (e.g., Gig Harbor prefabricated Passive House), multi-family developments (e.g., Vineyard Lane), community facilities (e.g., The Guest House), and cultural facilities (e.g., SCCC Fellowship Hall). Important to KAS is our research on the impact of reciprocal relationships between natural and built environments coupling high-performance buildings and pro-environmental user behaviors for the mutual benefit of the environment and our clients.
